Andalusia Film Commission

Andalucia Film Commission (AFC) working regulations

Andalucia Film Commission (AFC) goal:

To assist national and foreign producers regarding logistics in their productions.

At the same time, the AFC promotes our region within and outside Spain and the competence of the services of its audiovisual sector. In this respect we should make this sector sensitive to the importance of competitiveness both in quality and cost.

To promote and encourage the audiovisual industry in the Andalusian provinces lacking in such industry.

To create and coordinate Film Commission regional offices all over the Andalusian territory in order to cover our region and be able to provide a coordinated and efficient service.

Andalucia Film Commission (AFC) offers the following services:

  • Information on possible locations in Andalusia and proposals for location-seekers registered in Andalusia.

  • Connection and coordination services with the audiovisual industry.

  • A service for coordinating and connecting production companies with national, regional and local administrations.

  • The Film Commission offers its services as a non-profit organization. In case expenses might arise when arranging the services (logistics to the production such as accommodation, catering, car rents, etc) these will be charged to the requesting production company.

  • Reservations: Andalucía Film Commission offers information on infrastructure, hotels, restaurants, rent-a-car,etc by sending listings. Arranging reservations will correspond to the production companies.

  • Rates: the AFC coordinates with the Hotel Associations, catering industry associations and travel agency associations in order to obtain special rates for companies.

  • The AFC is not a service company but an advising company. By knowing the area more specifically, it can make it easier to act as a mediator between the producers and the private sector professionals.

Interpreter and Translation services:

  • In case these services were needed, the AFC would put both parts in contact without intervening in the hiring and/or commercial relations.

  • The AFC does not hold any funds for the production companies but it will inform about any public investments available for the sector.

  •  The AFC is carrying out an informative campaign oriented to the service industry and the public administration (signing of agreements), in order  to obtain discounts and promotions for the producers with the aim of attracting an important economic input to our region.

  •  The AFC is in constant communication with the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI), regarding new policies and guidelines approved of by the AFCI for the audiovisual sector, represented by its members.

  • Our aim is to have updated listings with all the companies and services in Andalusia. We encourage these companies to keep us informed about their services and let us know eventual changes. We would also like them, in case of hiring on the part of a national or foreign company making use of their services, to keep the AFC informed about development and success in such matters.

Using private property for shootings:

  • The AFC will provide information to the domestic or international companies about private properties that can be rented to shoot and produce audiovisual works and about the companies devoted to this kind of service.

  • The AFC does not feel responsible for the result of the commercial relation between producers and private property owners.

Lawsuits:

  • If lawsuits should occur, the AFC will provide the producers with information on specialists in audiovisual law registered in Andalusia, but it will not be able to function as one of them. By expressed consent of both parts the AFC can mediate to help them reach a friendly agreement.

One of the goals of the AFC is to mediate between the administration and the audiovisual industry professionals, in order to make the development easier.

  • The services offered by the AFC are non-profitable. Nevertheless, we request the contacting company to collaborate with our organization in:

    • Screen credit for Andalucía Film Commission, together with provincial Film Commissions and/or local Film Offices taken part in the project.

    • Donating, once the production is over.

      •  A video copy of the job done.

      • A list of the technical, creative and producing personnel.

      • Photographs and advertising material of the production.

    • Breakdown information about the expenses made for the project in our Automous region.
