AFC economic and strategic potential

The Andalusian audiovisual sector has great importance on the one hand as an economic resource and, on the other hand as a strategic sector of special significance for Andalusia's cultural and political interests.

In the context of social and economic profitability it can be justified for being:

  • A tool for local economic development in the audiovisual business and other sectors related to hotel industry, tourism and services.

  • An instrument to promote culture and the region's very identity.

Since AFC was created, a total of 2.616 productions from 43 different countries have benefited from the AFC.

So, the development of the audiovisual sector is associated with the development of the service sector related to hostelry and tourism, at the same time it is used as a promotion tool for the region's culture.

Also since the AFC was created in 1999, it has participated in over 2.616 national and international projects, which is of great importance on the one hand, as an economic sector as a whole, and on the other hand as a relevant strategic sector for the Andalusian socio-economic, cultural and political interests.
